Lord Mayors Heritage Concert

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, performed or volunteered at the Lord Mayor’s Heritage Concert in Cork. We at the Cork Lions Club are deeply grateful for your support in helping to make this event a memorable celebration of our city’s heritage, culture and community spirit.

Set in the majestic setting of Cork City Hall, the concert brought together local talent and community groups, showcasing the very best of Cork’s musical and cultural scene. Highlights included performances by the Barrack Street Band, the Voices of Cork Choir, leading singers Linda Kenny and Art Supple, alongside a rich array of ensembles and soloists — all united in celebrating our shared heritage.

Childhood Cancer Ireland is a parent- and survivor-led charity that supports children, young people, and families affected by cancer. Their work focuses on easing the emotional and practical challenges that come with a diagnosis, while also advocating for better services, treatments, and long-term supports. Through our partnership, Cork Lions Club proudly helps raise awareness and provide meaningful assistance to families in our community.

Cork Lions Handover 2025

Cork Lions Club held our annual Handover in The Mayors Quarters in Cork City Hall on Friday June 27th. Many thanks to the Lord Mayor - Cllr Fergal Dennehy for hosting the event! We wish Declan Moon, Incoming President all the best for the year ahead and thank Ciaran O'Connor, Outgoing President for his great work throughout the past year.

We also took the opportunity to present the prizes to our winners of the Golf Classic which was sponsored by Fitzgerald Menswear, Patrick Street, Cork Winners IEC Runners Up Brown & Brown

Supporting Cork Charities

We also took the opportunity to make donations to severl local Cork Charities in appreciation of the great work they carry out for the people of Cork - recipients included Cork Street Pastors, Cork Alliance Centre, Recovery Coach, Edmund Rice Summer Camps, Cork Homeless Help & Support Group, Cork Stroke Group, Cancer Support Ireland, Addiction Support in Arbour House with Peter Neville. Cork Lions also made a donation to the people of Gaza via UNICEF.

Lee & Sandy Cove Swims 2025

Sandy Cove

This was an iconic 2km open water swim around Sandycove Island. The event features a post-swim prize-giving in Kinsale town and is supported by partners including the Cork Lions Club.

Safety Support: The event was supported by the Phoenix Kayak Club, RNLI, Garda Síochána, and Cork City Missing Persons Search and Recovery.
